DOCUMENT COLLECTION

After Gaudí's studio and a large part of his archive were burnt, his disciples began to collect the lost information to reconstruct an archive with which they could start on the works again as quickly as possible and with maximum fidelity to the master.

That has been achieved thanks to a study of the historical material kept in the archive. Most of all pieces of plaster that have served to carry out a whole archaeological task on the church.

The unusual feature of being a building under construction means that there are many kinds of supports for storing information which have to be selected, indexed and classified to explain the whole constructive and creative process of the church to future generations.

Magazine
From 1866 to 1947 the magazine El Propagador de la Devoción a San José, was published. It was the vehicle for dissemination of the beginning of the foundation and later construction of the church.
Since 1947, the magazine has continued to be published under the title Temple and contains all news related to the institution.

PHOTO LIBRARY
You can pay a visit to the whole history of the church through photographs, from the beginning to the present. The collection is constantly growing.

MUSEUM
Includes an inventory of the pieces on show in the museum.

SCULPTORS' STUDIO
Shows the historical and modern pieces made in order to study the solutions that were later discarded or are being used now.
Antoni Gaudí used this technique; through three-dimensional models he could visualise the architectural solutions better. The moulds and the models that have reached us help us to follow the project as the master wished.
