PASSION FACADE
Have a good look at the columns on the facade!
Passion and death of Jesus. Facing west, where the sun sets. Built after Gaudí's death, following his design. Sculptures by Josep Maria Subirachs.
"I wanted it to make people afraid, and to achieve that I will not spare chiaroscuro, projecting elements and hollows, all of which have the most sombre effect." A. Gaudí
BRONZE DOORS
Monumental bronze doors, the work of Josep Maria Subirachs, which represent fragments of the Old Testament.
INTERIOR
Look up! Can you see the stone forest?
"The interior of the church will be like a forest. The trees will be the slightly leaning pillars that divide in four like the branches of a tree." A. Gaudí
STAINED GLASS
Look at the stained glass!
"Light is harmony, so this will be the church of harmonious light." A. Gaudí
THE SCULPTURE OF SAINT GEORGE

DISCOVER THE BELL-TOWERS
"Look at the tips of the bell-towers. Do they not seem to join earth and heaven? That burst of mosaics is the first thing sailors will see when they approach Barcelona; it will be a radiant welcome!" A. Gaudí
MUSEUM
Sculptors' workshop
Do you know how Gaudí's projects are monitored? From the plaster models
During the Civil War some of Gaudí's plans and drawings were destroyed. But he worked basically with plaster models which, though broken, were not burnt. With the original fragments found the models are reconstructed and so we can follow the building of the church as Gaudí had imagined it.
